3. The STAR experiment at RHICSTAR collaboration
The view into the centre of
the STAR detector at RHIC
before it was moved into
the beam. Particles produced
in the collisions between
the gold beams at RHIC are
tracked in the central and
surrounding detectors. There
are three other detectors at
RHIC: PHENIX, BRAHMS and
PHOBOS
