One of the three patches of sky – each about two degrees square – imaged by the CBI imaged three patches of sky. Red indicates cool spots and white indicates hot spots. The fluctuations in intensity are only about 100 µK about the average temperature of 2.73 K. This image, with a resolution of seven minutes of arc, is the sharpest one yet.
