6 Directed drift of spiral waves

The introduction of small-amplitude perturbations into a biophysical model of cardiac tissue leads to resonant drift of the spiral-wave source. The blue dots mark the instants at which the perturbation is applied, and the white line traces the movement of the tip. These results indicate that a series of small-amplitude perturbations could direct the spiral wave towards the boundaries of the cardiac muscle, allowing it to be extinguished.
