Future fusion - the Tore Supra tokamak has recently been upgraded with actively cooled elements that will enable researchers to create plasma conditions similar to those in an eventual fusion reactor. The largest of these is the toroidal limiter - the flat ring round the bottom of the vacuum vessel.
