The gamma-ray sky

A simulation of how the gamma-ray sky might look after a year of observations with GLAST, which shows the bright glow of gamma rays from our galaxy (central bright fuzzy region). Also simulated are hundreds of pulsars, a handful of supernova and some X-ray binary systems, all of which are dotted among several thousand active galaxies spread evenly throughout the whole sky.
