When multiple power supplies are controlled together, designers must optimize a variety of test conditions and levels. Power sources should be easily configurable and have uniform control interfaces to simplify test design and minimize change-over time. Above all, they need to be reliable to avoid test interruption.
Genesys™ Programmable power supplies set new standards for flexible, reliable power for applications from 750W to 15kW, output voltages 6 to 600VDC, and current to 1,000A. Active or Passive PFC and wide range inputs assure worldwide operation. RS-232/RS-485 standard.
Where a GPIB interface is used, an option called Multi-Drop is available. This option allows a Multi-Drop GPIB equipped Master (IEMD) to control Multi-Drop equipped Slaves (MD) over RS-485, avoiding the cost of a GPIB board in every slave. It also saves GPIB Addresses, an important feature in large systems.
Also available is LXI-C Ethernet LAN Interface Option for further system flexibility.
For power flexibility, the standard feature, Advanced Parallel, allows four like units in parallel to provide up to 60 kW output power. The unit designated as Master accepts commands and reads back the total current being delivered from Front Panel or Analog or Digital Interfaces. This allows the group to function as one power supply.
The Genesys™ family offers four power levels Outputs are floating and either Positive or Negative may be grounded as required by the application.

Standard features for all Genesys™ units include built-in Fine or Coarse Control of Voltage and Current using reliable Front Panel encoders, built-in standard RS-232/485, Last Setting Memory, User Selectable Auto/Safe Re-start, User Selectable External Analog Programming and Monitoring 0-5V, 0-10V, optional Isolated Analog Programming and Monitoring 0-5V/0-10V or 4-20mA. Front Panel control may be locked out by software or Front Panel commands. Control interfaces are common across all power levels which simplifies systems design. .
