We continue to invest in the latest technology and the installation of a carbon coating machine has made us one of the few suppliers in Europe to provide diamond like carbon (DLC) coatings.

This extremely rugged and abrasion resistant coating, used in conjunction with antireflection coatings, can be applied to both germanium and silicon components (for thermal imaging applications). For the laser market, we provide a variety of CO2 coatings. These range from standard antireflection (AR) coatings to phase retarders and highly reflective mirrors.

Umicore Coating Services also designs and manufactures all dielectric multi-layer interference filters from 0.85um to 16um. These filters are used in a number of industries including the gas detection market.
