IWM2009: International Workshop on Multifragmentation and Related Topics

The fifth edition of the biennial workshop, organized by the CHIMERA and INDRA collaborations, will take place at the INFN - Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) and in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Catania, from the 4th to the 7th of November 2009.
It will focus on nuclear multifragmentation with a special emphasis on the role of the isospin degree of freedom, and will feature dedicated sessions on the following topics :

- Multifragmentation
- Properties and phases of nuclear matter
- Isospin & symmetry energy
- Dynamics of heavy-ion collisions
- Correlation techniques and characterization of emitting sources
- Future detectors and facilities

Within the context of the last topic, a special session will be devoted to “New Ribs facilities in the world”.
