The Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine (NST) is a centre of research and expertise that gathers, produces and disseminates knowledge about telemedicine services. NST is a National Centre of Expertise in Norway and an international leader in the field of Telemedicine. NST has been designated as a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Telemedicine since 2002.
Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine co-founded the Tromsø Telemedicine Laboratory (TTL) in 2006 together with industrial and academic partners. TTL is a Centre for Research-based Innovation combining human caring with new technologies, in order to provide better health care for those with chronic diseases, and reduce the growing burden on the health care system.

Researcher in Mathematical Sciences
Job description
NST is seeking a talented individual for a permanent research job in the field of mathematical sciences. The researcher will join the extended decision support group at the Tromsø Telemedicine Laboratory. The group is lead by Prof. Fred Godtliebsen from the statistics group at the University of Tromsø. The primary responsibility of the researcher will be to contribute to on-going research into scale-space methods for gaining knowledge from data observed as a function of time and/or space, with a focus on problems related to Early Warning Systems and Computer-Aided Diagnostics. This will include advising Ph.D. students in the group, managing projects, and contributing to applications for external research funding.
Basic Qualifications
- You have to obtain a Ph.D. in either applied mathematics, statistics, computer science or a related field with a strong mathematical background
- You have to have a desire to work in an interdisciplinary environment
Additional Qualifications
C/C++ programming experience, project management experience and a record of obtaining research funding are a plus
