Confocal Laser Scanning Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging without a Laser Scanning Microscope. Sep 5, 2007

The DCS-120 from Becker & Hickl is a complete confocal laser scanning fluorescence lifetime imaging system that is revolutionary in that it removes the requirement for expensive laser scanning microscopes to facilitate FLIM studies.

Instead, only a conventional inverted microscope is required, the DCS-120 confocal scanner converting this microscope into a high-performance fluorescence lifetime imaging system.

Distributed in the UK by Photonic Solutions PLC, the DCS-120 features high sensitivity, high time resolution and fast data recording. The DCS-120 system consists of a confocal scan head, one or two Becker & Hickl BDL-SMC picosecond diode lasers, one or two multi-wavelength detector modules, a scan controller and one or two Becker & Hickl TCSPC modules. The DCS-120 is compatible with any of the Becker & Hickl SPC-830, SPC-140 or SPC-150 modules and can be used with the PMC-100, H7422 or ultra-fast MCP detector modules, again all from Becker & Hickl.
Applications include Biological Fluorescence, Biomedical Imaging, Confocal Microscopy, Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), FRET, anisotropy decay imaging and multi-spectral FLIM.
