High Power, Tight Wavelength Tolerance, 976nm, Fibre-Coupled Diode from JDSU Oct 23, 2008
JDSU’s 6398-L4t series fibre-coupled diode laser expands their L4 platform by offering a tighter wavelength range specification of +/-3nm at 976nm for the fibre laser pumping market.
Distributed in the UK by Photonic Solutions, the L4t series diode lasers offer 10W of CW power from a 105µm fiber into a 0.22 or 0.15 numerical aperture. The tight wavelength tolerance is achieved by accurately controlling the wavelength of the epitaxial structure during growth, with the end result the narrow +/-3nm wavelength range of the L4t package making this an ideal source for pumping fibre lasers in the narrow absorption bandwidth around 976nm.
The 6398-L4t series diode lasers also takes advantage of the existing global JDSU manufacturing infrastructure to offer both high brightness and a small footprint with consistent high reliability in a cost-effective solution.
Photonic Solutions is the UK distributor of the JDSU range of commercial laser products.
