AnaLight 4D Feb 13, 2009

Scientific instrumentation to measure real time conformational changes associated with biomolecular interactions in proteins and other biomolecules or polymers.

The AnaLight 4D is a scientific instrument for characterisation of the conformational changes in proteins and other biomolecules as they interact with binding partners or other environmental stimulus. The instrument is based on Dual Polarisation Interferometry where molecules captured on a glass slide are probed with polarised light to resolve the molecular size, refractive index (or density) and mass. Measurements are real time, label free and sub atomic in resolution allowing the biophysical characterisation of subtle conformation changes associated with biomolecular function. The AnaLight 4D also quantifies the birefringence (order) within molecular layers such as lipid bilayers allowing the characterisation of bilayer formation, interactions with peptides and membrane proteins
