White Thermal Control and Conductive Spacecraft / Satellite Paints / Coatings Jul 13, 2009

Inorganic and organic white thermal control paint developed for use on spacecraft and satellite surfaces exposed to the deleterious effects of the space environment.

They have low solar absorptance ranging from 0.09 to 0.25 depending on specific product and high thermal emiitance (~0.91). These coatings have been both tested and used extensively (years) in space, on satellites and the International Space Station, and maintain their properties extremely well. Some are tailabable to various levels of conductivity.

The white and black navigation targets and the NASA logo in the photo of the Quest airlock being attached to the ISS were coated by AZ with our white (AZ-93), black and colored coatings. (AZ-93 is AZ's production version of Z-93P)
