Physics World Focus on Nanotechnology 2015

Physics World Focus on Nanotechnology 2015

This Focus issue explores some of the latest research in nanoscience and technology. With graphene continuing to loom large on the research agenda, we look at the progress being made by the European Commission’s Graphene Flagship, survey the fast-growing market for graphene producers and report on a recent graphene application in desalination. We also explore the emerging cross-disciplinary field of plant nanobionics and report recent advances towards nanoscale magnetic resonance imaging. Finally, 20 years after its invention, we investigate the potential of nanoimprint lithography to replace traditional photon-beam techniques.
