Lawrence Krauss is chairman of the physics department at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, US, where his research focuses on the interface between particle physics and cosmology. He is also the author of several popular books, including The Physics of Star Trek (HarperPerennial 1996) and Beyond Star Trek (Basic Books 1997), which was reviewed in Physics World in January 1998
