Andrea Bruck

Andrea Bruck is a PhD student contributor to Physics World. Andrea is studying electrochemistry at Stony Brook University in the US. Her research focuses on the fundamental process that occur in a battery during its operation and how synchrotron based characterization can elucidate the chemical processes that cause battery failure. With a better understanding of the fundamental science she hopes to improve energy storage technology, helping to decrease the world’s reliance on non-renewable resources. Outside of the lab she enjoys amateur astronomy and getting lost in a good book.
