Naomi Pratt is a former student contributor to Physics World. As a postgraduate researcher in the Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet DTP at the Grantham Institute, Imperial College London, Naomi used fossil cold-water corals to investigate the changes in water mass structure and chemistry of the southern Indian Ocean since the last Ice Age.
