Soroush Khademi

Soroush Khademi is a former PhD student contributor to Physics World. He did his PhD research on quantum optomechanics at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, and was a student member of Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems. The goal of his PhD was to observe macroscopic quantumness at room temperature, which will have potential applications in quantum sensing. Soroush’s academic journey started with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and continued with a Master’s degree in physics from Sharif University of Technology, Iran, during which he did some research on quantum foundations. He then worked on quantum key distribution for a while and joined the UQ PhD programme in 2019.
