William Fern

William Fern is a PhD student contributor to Physics World. He is currently studying iron-based superconductors as an experimental postgraduate research student at the University of Bath, UK. His PhD research focuses on the coexistence of superconductivity and ferromagnetism at high temperatures (up to 20 K) in europium-containing iron-pnictides. Outside academia, he enjoys playing his guitar, rambling in the Cotswolds and reading.
