Y Lan Pham

Y Lan Pham is a PhD student contributor to Physics World and is working towards a PhD in analytical chemistry at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. As a research associate in the group for Emissions Analytics and Diagnostics at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV, Germany, her research activities involve the exploration of breath-borne volatile biomarkers for non-invasive screening of physiological conditions. Currently, she investigates the potential to diagnose colorectal cancer through volatiles in breath and stool. In her free time, she enjoys landscape painting.
