On the occasion of John Toner’s 71st birthday, this workshop will bring researchers from soft, hard and active matter physics together to survey the latest advances. A particular focus will be on the hydrodynamic and universal behaviour that emerge in these subfields of condensed matter physics in honour of John’s contributions to these areas.
