Return to Helgoland: celebrating 100 years of quantum mechanics
To kick off the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ), Robert P Crease talks to some of the physicists attending the Helgoland 2025 conference, which is being held on the island where Werner Heisenberg developed quantum mechanics exactly a century ago. Also to mark IYQ, Oksana Kondratyeva explains how she’s worked with US firm Rigetti Computing to create a piece of stained glass art inspired by its quantum computers. Meanwhile, Michael Allen looks at the impact of clouds on climate change and Robert Phillips explains how you can pick up entrepreneurship skills that may be vital for career success.
