The app includes the monthly issues of magazine, Physics World focus issues and special reports, plus extra digital-only content.
The app will automatically update with the latest issue and give you the option to download it when convenient.
If you are using the Apple app, we'll send you a message to notify you when new issues are available, providing you have "Notifications" turned on in your device "Settings".
Providing issues have been downloaded, you can read them when you are offline. You will however need a connection to view any video content.
No. Provided you have a current membership of the Institute of Physics you will be able to access every issue of Physics World since the new release in July 2014. Non-members of the Institute will be able to access all the focus issues and special reports.
The app is free to download, but access to the monthly magazine is restricted to members of the Institute of Physics.
Anyone with an interest in physics can join the Institute. For instant membership, visit the IOP website to find out more about the different membership packages available.
When you first open the app, you will be asked to log in using your IOP membership username and password. You will only need to log in once; after that, the app will remember your log-in details to provide you with immediate access to all issues.

Click on the search icon at the top right of the home screen and type your search term to find the latest relevant news articles. Your search terms will be saved and displayed at the top of your app screen. You can edit and remove items from your saved searches list whenever you like via the search page.
The physicsworld.com newsflash app allows you to share news articles by clicking on the share button at the top right of the screen on each individual article page. This will allow you to e-mail a link to the article to friends and colleagues.
To remove the physicsworld.com newsflash app from your device, you need to press down firmly on the physicsworld.com newsflash icon on your iPhone or iPod Touch. The icons will begin to shake. Simply press the black-circle delete icon. To delete the app from your iTunes account you need to highlight the app title with your cursor and press the delete key.
