6th International Conference on Optical, Optoelectronic and Photonic Materials and Applications

COOPMA 2014 is the sixth in the ICOOPMA series, an International Conference on Optical, Optoelectronic and Photonic Materials and Applications, which was held for the first time in Darwin, Australia, in 2006. ICOOPMA was then held in London, England (2007) and Edmonton, Canada (2008). Since 2008, the conference has been held biennially in Budapest, Hungary (2010) and Nara, Japan (2012). Each meeting has attracted between 250 and 300 participants, including several notable plenary lectures from world’s top researchers in the field of photonics and optoelectronics.

The ICOOPMA series arose from researchers who sought a truly international conference that covered a wide range of materials, devices and applications in optics, optoelectronics and photonics. The International and Local Organising Committees are committed to ensuring an in-depth scientific coverage with invited and contributed papers from all parts of the world in the areas of optical, optoelectronic and photonic materials, devices, and their applications, so that in each conference an exciting and stimulating mixed scientific programme can be maintained featuring research at the forefront of each field.

By tradition, the conference includes a large number of invited papers from top researchers in the areas of optics, optoelectronics, and photonics, providing a forum for participants to appreciate and learn about recent advances and emerging opportunities in topical and subject specific areas. The plenary talks are organised to feature key areas, recent advances in broader subject areas and potential future directions.

In 2014, the meeting is supported and sponsored by the Institute of Physics (IoP). With the support from the IoP, the conference organisers will deliver a high standard of peer reviewed conference and journal publications. In ICOOPMA 2014, the Scientific and Organising Committees have decided to support Young Scientists by allocating dedicated oral sessions and workshops to them. The Committees will also be running exciting and engaging poster sessions, in which top posters in each topical area will be highlighted and recognised with a prize.
