Jo Nicholas is group publisher for the B2B and Education group of IOP Publishing. She has a degree in biological sciences from the University of Birmingham and 13 years’ experience in the publishing industry. She has worked at IOP Publishing for over 10 years, mostly in the Physics World area.
Matin Durrani
Editor, Physics World
Dr Matin Durrani has been editor of Physics World since March 2006. He graduated with a degree in chemical physics from Bristol University, and did a PhD in polymer physics at the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge. After two years as a postdoc at the Cavendish, he joined Physics World in 1994.
Dens Milne
Associate editor, Physics World
Dens Milne is associate editor of Physics World. She has been with the magazine for over 10 years, having previously helped publish material covering the whole spectrum of the subject from a weekly condensed-matter journal to the 2000-page reference work Twentieth Century Physics. She has a degree in physical sciences.
Michael Banks
News editor, Physics World
Dr Michael Banks is news editor of Physics World. He graduated in physics from Loughborough University having spent a year at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany. After then completing his PhD in experimental condensed-matter physics at the Max Planck Institute, he joined the magazine in October 2007.
João Medeiros
Features editor, Physics World
Dr João Medeiros has been features editor of Physics World since April 2008. Before that he worked as an intern editorial assistant for Seed magazine in London. He has a PhD in theoretical physics and cosmology from Imperial College London.
Margaret Harris
Reviews and Careers editor, Physics World
Dr Margaret Harris is reviews and careers editor of Physics World. She studied physics at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in the US and then did a PhD in atomic physics at Durham University in the UK. She joined the magazine in August 2008.
Hamish Johnston
Editor, physicsworld.com
Dr Hamish Johnston is editor of physicsworld.com. He did a PhD in condensed-matter physics at Canada’s McMaster University and has spent a decade editing technology magazines in the computing, vacuum-technology and wireless-communications sectors. He joined physicsworld.com in August 2006.
James Dacey
Reporter, physicsworld.com
James Dacey is a reporter with physicsworld.com. He graduated in natural sciences from the University of Birmingham before completing a Masters in science, culture and communication at the University of Bath. In between he worked as an English teacher in Eastern Europe and South America. He joined physicsworld.com in January 2009.
Ed Jost
Group advertising manager
Ed Jost has been working at IOP Publishing for over seven years. He began his career with the optics team and then moved to the recruitment section of Physics World. He is currently the group advertising manager for Physics World and physicsworld.com. He has a degree in politics from the University of the West of England.
Kathryn Zerboni
Senior sales executive
Kathryn Zerboni has been working for IOP Publishing for over three years. She started selling recruitment advertising and now works as part of the display-advertising team. She can fluently speak and write four languages: English, French, Italian and Spanish. She has a degree in languages from the University of the West of England.
Tom Houlden

Originally from Reading, Tom Houlden began working for IOP Publishing in 2005. He joined the display-advertising arm of the physics portfolio in 2006 and has been in the team ever since. Tom is responsible for the UK and Asian territories for Physics World and physicsworld.com. He has a degree in psychology from the University of the West of England.

Bernadette Bickmore has worked in B2B sales in numerous markets since gaining a BSc from Drexel University in 1982. Her current responsibilities include Physics World and physicsworld.com.
Moo Ali
Recruitment advertisement manager
Moo Ali is recruitment advertising manager for Physics World and physicsworld.com. She started work at IOP Publishing in 2004 and is a graduate of the University of West of England with a degree in information systems and politics. Her previous roles include working in sales and marketing for various IT software companies.
Jordan Jurgiel

Jordan Jurgiel joined IOP Publishing 2007. He is responsible for selling recruitment advertising. Jordan came to the UK in search of a career after graduating with a BA in teaching English as a foreign language from the University of Zielona Góra. He has previously worked in recruitment agencies specializing in account management.

Nicky Davies has worked in media and sales roles in different countries since obtaining a postgraduate diploma in foreign languages for business (French and Spanish) from the University of the West of England. She is responsible for selling recruitment advertsing.

Jayne Boulton is advertisement production co-ordinator for Physics World. She has been with IOP Publishing since 1991 and has worked on various magazine titles over the years.
Jackie King
Senior product manager
Jackie King is senior product manager for Physics World. She has been at IOP Publishing for nine years, during which time she has been involved in the development and launch of a series of company websites. She is a member of the Web-development team and represents the company on a number of related industry committees to ensure that it regularly identifies research and review opportunities and initiatives within the STM electronic-publishing industry.

Anastasia Ireland is responsible for all of the marketing activities for Physics World and physicsworld.com. She has a Master’s degree in marketing and strategy from the University of Warwick and has been at the IOP Publishing since 2007.
Teresa Honey
Sales administration manager
Teresa Honey is sales administration manager for Physics World. She has worked at IOP Publishing for nearly 25 years, over 15 of those working with the sales team. She has been involved in systems administration since 2000 and more recently in sales administration particularly associated with various websites. Teresa supports Physics World’s recruitment sales team.

Dawne Goodwin is the senior sales administration co-ordinator for the Physics World team, and has been at IOP Publishing since 1998. She is involved in the systems administration and sales administration for various IOP websites. Dawne supports Physics World’s display sales team.

Sarah Plenty is an electronic product support specialist on Physics World. She has been at IOP Publishing since 1989 and has worked in a number of departments within the journals and books divisions. Now part of a large customer-services team, she is responsible for supporting a variety of electronic products including physicsworld.com.
