Matin Durrani
Editor, Physics World
Dr Matin Durrani has been editor of Physics World since March 2006. He graduated with a degree in chemical physics from Bristol University, and did a PhD in polymer physics at the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge. After two years as a postdoc at the Cavendish, he joined Physics World in 1994.
Dens Milne
Associate editor, Physics World
Dens Milne is associate editor of Physics World. She has been with the magazine for more than 10 years, having previously helped to publish material covering the whole spectrum of the subject from a weekly condensed-matter journal to the 2000-page reference work Twentieth Century Physics. She has a degree in physical sciences.
Hamish Johnston
Editor, physicsworld.com
Dr Hamish Johnston is editor of physicsworld.com. He did a PhD in condensed-matter physics at Canada's McMaster University and has spent a decade editing technology magazines in the computing, vacuum-technology and wireless-communications sectors. He joined physicsworld.com in August 2006.
Michael Banks
News editor, Physics World
Dr Michael Banks is news editor of Physics World. He graduated in physics from Loughborough University having spent a year at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany. After then completing his PhD in experimental condensed-matter physics at the Max Planck Institute, he joined the team in October 2007.
Margaret Harris
Reviews and careers editor, Physics World
Dr Margaret Harris is reviews and careers editor of Physics World. She studied physics at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in the US and then did a PhD in atomic physics at Durham University in the UK. She joined the team in August 2008.
Louise Mayor
Features editor, Physics World
Dr Louise Mayor is features editor of Physics World. She graduated with an MSci in physics from the University of Nottingham, which included a year spent at the University of Toronto in Canada. She then did a PhD in experimental surface science, also at the University of Nottingham, before joining the team in January 2010.
James Dacey
Reporter, physicsworld.com
James Dacey is a reporter with physicsworld.com. He graduated in natural sciences from the University of Birmingham before completing a Masters in science, culture and communication at the University of Bath. In between he worked as an English teacher in Eastern Europe and South America. He joined physicsworld.com in January 2009.
Tushna Commissariat

Tushna Commissariat is a reporter for physicsworld.com. She graduated from St Xavier's College, Bombay, India, with a BSc in physics before moving to London to complete an MA in science journalism. She was a summer science intern at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. She joined physicsworld.com in April 2011.
Kate Gardner

Kate Gardner has been a production editor at IOP Publishing since 2006, and joined the Physics World team in January 2011. She is responsible for the production of Physics World and physicsworld.com. She previously produced technical books for Blackwell Publishing and has a degree in English from the University of Reading, UK.
Chris Thomas

Chris Thomas is the group advertising manager for the Physics World portfolio. He has considerable business-to-academia and business-to-business sales and contract-management experience across a range of magazines and websites and is in his second spell at IOP Publishing. He has a degree in French and European Studies from the University of Keele.

Bernadette Bickmore has worked in B2B sales in numerous markets since gaining a BSc from Drexel University in 1982. Her current responsibilities include Physics World and physicsworld.com.
