Sharon Ann Holgate has been a freelance science writer and broadcaster since 1998. Her credits include presenting physics content on the BBC World Service and BBC Radio 4, writing for Science, New Scientist, the Times Literary Supplement, the Times Higher Education Supplement, Astronomy Now and Physics World, and authoring four physics textbooks and the popular-science book Nuclear Fusion. Her DPhil is in thermoluminescence and she is a former IOP Young Professional Physicist of the Year, and Lord Kelvin Medal and Prize winner. www.sharonannholgate.com
