Tim Wogan studied physics at the University of Cambridge, where he distinguished himself from his fellow students by being the only one who actually read his copy of Physics World and the only one who didn’t get sufficiently high marks to qualify for a PhD – he is not suggesting any connection. In search of an alternative career plan, he studied journalism and, after a brief period as an intern at Science, has worked freelance. Since 2019 he has lived in the US.
