Oscar Williams
Oscar Williams is a former PhD student contributor to Physics World. At the Advanced Characterisation of Materials CDT – a collaborative PhD between University College London and Imperial University – Oscar investigated the catalysis exhibited in gold nanoparticles, primarily through scanning tunnelling microscopy alongside other surface science techniques.
Oscar grew up in Cornwall, before moving to Bristol to study physics, beside a brief stint working for the R&D department of a secure document printer. He then moved to London for his PhD. He does a lot of outreach and public engagement related to hydrogen as a clean alternative energy source to fossil fuels.
