Laser Safety Management Course
This five-day course provides delegates with the tools to implement a Laser Safety Management Programme for their laser application. This course also provides comprehensive training in support of the British Standards for laser safety and general safety legislation.
This course is fully residential and includes all meals and accommodation from dinner on the Sunday evening prior to the course to lunch on the Friday afternoon of the final day of the course. It is held at the imago at Burleigh Court International Conference Centre, Loughborough. The Burleigh Springs Leisure Complex, with indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa, gym and skin care/therapy centre is also available to delegates. Ample free car parking is provided.
What do I get out of this course?
Each course is tailored to the interests of the course participants. A pre-attendance questionnaire is sent to delegates for completion and return prior to the course, and the course would be suited to:
• Laser Safety Officers and others responsible for dealing with changing or complex laser applications
• Managers, supervisors and others responsible for laser safety
• Those with responsibility for providing training in the safe use of lasers
• Laser manufacturers and suppliers who require an understanding of applicable laser safety standards
• Trainee Laser Protection Advisers (successful completion of the course may provide adequate evidence of the knowledge aspects for Certification)
This is an active learning experience with comprehensive course material referencing to current British Standards. Course activities include case studies, practical measurement and assessment exercises, workshops, group tutorials and daily review questions, as well as a visit to Loughborough University’s high power laser laboratory. All delegates will be provided with a set of comprehensive course notes and an attendance certificate.
A written test is conducted at the end of the course. Delegates who pass the written test receive appropriate recognition on their attendance certificate.
Why should I come to PHE?
